The Minor Memorial Library of Roxbury Connecticut will be exhibiting of works on paper by Brooklyn artist Audrey Anastasi and sculpture by Deborah Menzell Dressler, opening on Saturday, January 10, 2009.

Ms. Anastasi is an established artist who has won many awards and exhibited her work throughout the New York metropolitan area and in various galleries along the East Coast. The birds and signature birch tree themes in this show began with a series of artworks in reaction to the Exxon Valdez tragedy. She has created monotypes and enhanced them with water colors, graphite, colored pencils, gold leaf and other media in order to increase the intensity of her images. Reviewing her work, critics refer to her "vivid imagination" and her "uncanny ability to draw and perceive uncommonly well."

The birds created by Ms. Dressler combine ledge rocks with wire or polymer clay studded with glass beads to form charming, unique sculptures. The rocks, gathered from Roxbury and around the world, are used as Nature presented them.

The public is invited to the free opening reception at the Minor Memorial Library,
23 South Street, Roxbury, on Saturday, January 10, 2009 from 2 pm to 4 pm.

The show will continue during regular library hours through Monday,
February 23, 2009: Mondays from 12 noon to 7 pm, Wednesdays from 10 am to 7
pm, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 am to 5 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm.
